The long, eventful road from fresh PhD graduate to founder of a successful company took me almost 10 years. I moved to California to start a PhD in Computer Science at UCLA where I specialized in Computer Networks. I met my co-founder during my PhD and we co-authored several research papers and had the chance to present our work at multiple academic conferences and industry events.
At the time, we realized that everything was converging to the Internet - Cloud Computing, SaaS, Networking- and there was no good solution in the market to capture the complexity and performance at scale of the Internet, and so we decided to start ThousandEyes to close that gap. Over time we grew to 400 people with offices all over the world and acquired hundreds of customers (including 80 of the Fortune 500). After 10 years of growth, the company was acquired by Cisco in 2020.
Most of my passions, like wildlife photography, skiing, diving, and kitesurfing are all related to exploration and adventure.
